Summary: The Meta Muse AI agent for small business launched on September 29, 2026. It connects to tools like Shopify, QuickBooks, Canva, and Stripe to help owners run daily work. The free Muse app also hit 5 million downloads in the US in just 22 days — faster than ChatGPT ever did.
What happened
Meta has turned its AI agent Muse into a tool for small businesses. The company announced Muse for Small Business on September 29, 2026.
Muse is not a normal chatbot. It does not just answer questions. It can do real tasks inside the apps a business uses every day.
The consumer version of the Muse app launched earlier in September. It grew fast. Market research firm Sensor Tower estimates Muse reached 5 million downloads in the US within 22 days of its September 8 launch. That is faster than ChatGPT (56 days), X’s Grok (103 days), and Anthropic’s Claude (492 days).
Now Meta wants that same agent to run small business work.
What Muse for Small Business can do
Muse connects directly to the tools many freelancers and small business owners already use. Meta says it can link to dozens of apps.
The main connections include:
- Shopify — online stores and orders
- Intuit QuickBooks — money, bills, and accounts
- Stripe — payments
- Canva — design and social media posts
- Instagram professional account analytics — page stats and followers
- Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts — ads and business pages
Other tools include Asana, Box, Dropbox, Figma, Klaviyo, Notion, Slack, and Zoom.
Once connected, Muse can do work like:
- Draft ad campaigns and social media posts
- Study sales data and social analytics
- Build a yearly growth plan for the business
- Check monthly income and spot odd expenses
- Manage the calendar and remind about tasks
Meta shares sample requests such as: “How was my business’s financial performance this month? Find any expenses that look off.” Another example: “Study this year’s sales and social activity, then write a growth plan.”
The agent also works in the background. Meta says Muse keeps working even when the owner is busy and brings up ideas on its own, like flagging an email that needs a reply.
Price and availability
Meta said Muse for Small Business is free for most uses. Businesses that want higher limits or extra features will be able to buy a subscription plan. Meta has not shared the prices yet.
One safety rule stands out. Meta says Muse will never publish a post, send a message, or make a purchase without the owner’s approval. Every big action waits for a human yes.
The service is currently available in the US and Canada. Meta has not announced dates for other countries.
Why it matters for freelancers and students
If you run a small freelance business, you already know the pain. Client work takes most of the day. Then admin work eats the evening — bills, invoices, social posts, ad reports.
Muse is built to take over that second job. A freelancer who sells on Shopify and tracks money in QuickBooks can ask one agent to check both. A content creator can ask it to draft a post in Canva’s style and check Instagram stats.
Students benefit too. Many students run small side businesses — selling digital products, editing videos for clients, managing social pages for local shops. These tools are the same ones Muse connects to.
This also changes the AI market. OpenAI’s ChatGPT Dots agents, Microsoft’s Copilot Autopilot, and Meta’s Muse are now all racing to become the agent that runs your work day. For users, this race means better tools and lower prices. We have already seen this pattern with free AI tools for students — competition pushed more features into free plans.

Things to keep in mind
First, the availability is limited. Only the US and Canada get it for now. Users in Pakistan, India, the UK, and other countries will have to wait.
Second, Muse reads your business data to work well. That means your store, your books, and your ad accounts. Meta says the agent runs in its own safe space and asks before sharing anything. Still, only connect tools you trust it to read.
Third, this is still early. The paid plans have no prices yet. The full list of features is not public. Reviews from real business owners will tell us how well it works in daily use.
How to try it
If you are in the US or Canada, you can download the Muse app on your phone. The small business features connect through the app. Give the agent a clear goal, connect your tools, and approve each action.
If you are outside these countries, you can still watch the space. Meta expanded fast once before. The same may happen here.
